Jessica Walker
Jessica Walker's art seeks to conceive eternal pieces from the temporary. What she creates does not rebel against but extends the beauty of a form/body beyond its biological death. A life-long fascination with the macabre, her work and collaborations to date show her devotion to the metamorphosis of beauty; before death, through decomposition and into the physical imprint of every life left behind.
Artistically encouraged by her parents in her formative years to express herself, she has pursued structured education, guidance from mentors and extensive personal study.
In the last decade, Walker began taxidermy and entomology as a self-educated hobbyist. Over time her curiosity combined with her art background and has developed, along with her skills and instincts into a unique style.
Now working professionally, she works from her private studio, combining all her skills with a variety of techniques and mediums to create her pieces.
'Treasure the Erotic' reveals her visually enrapturing talent for needle art piercing on the human form. Her lines create a distinct and cherishing embrace in these intimate and fetishistic pieces, which were first showcased internationally in Los Angeles in 2019.
Currently involved in a large number of exciting projects, there will be much more of her work to be seen in the future.
